Coronavirus Information At Fulton County Health Group

Fulton County Health Center is closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and working with the Fulton County Health Department, Ohio Department of Health, and following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Ensuring patients and our employees are cared for in a safe and healthy environment is one of Fulton County Health Center's top priorities. To promote the safety and well-being of FCHC patients and the general public, proactive measures to prevent an outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19), FCHC has been implemented:

  • Facemask must be worn in FCHC facilities.
  • Wash or sanitize hands often and must be done before leaving patient rooms
  • Limit touching multiple surfaces in the patient room.
  • Avoid visiting if having symptoms of COVID-19, been recently in close contact with someone that has COVID-19, or tested positive within the past 10 days.
  • For those that cannot visit a loved one, ipad technology is available for communication, ask your primary nurse or nursing supervisor if assistance is needed.

Only patients meeting certain criteria will be tested for COVID at FCHC.  To find out more about COVID testing criteria at FCHC, click on the following link:  https://www.fultoncountyhealthcenter.org/covid-19/.  The COVID Testing section is under the FCHC Information section.

Visitor Restrictions

Due to COVID activity in Fulton County, FCHC has updated our visitation policy which is as follows:

In-patient visiting hours are 8:00am to 6:30pm daily.

  • Two (2) visitors at a time are allowed throughout the patients stay

Surgery/Procedures :

  • Two visitors/companion
  • Remain in designated areas and follow staff instructions

Obstetrics :

  • Two visitors/companion
  • Siblings with prior arrangement
  • Nursery – Birth Parent plus one additional person

Emergency Department :

  • Two designated visitors will be allowed back in the exam rooms for both adult and pediatric patients
  • If patient is COVID positive the patient's care team will discuss options and appropriateness for visitors at that time.
  • ER waiting room is open while maintaining social distancing.
  • If patient is COVID positive the patient's care team will discuss options and appropriateness for visitors at that time.
  • ER waiting room is open while maintaining social distancing.

Out-Patient services :

  • Two companions may accompany patient to appointment

Behavioral Health :

  • Two visitors at a time
  • Visitors must be approved by the Social Services department (weekend visitors-approved by nurse)
  • Each patient or their designee complete a visitor approval form which identifies the visitor's name, relationship, and contact information.

Limited visitation policy includes FCHC Employees that have family members who are in the hospital.

Exceptions may be given for visitors of patients who are at the end-of-life. Discuss with nursing staff.

NOTE: All staff, patients and visitors must remain vigilant in wearing masks, performing hand hygiene, and maintaining social distancing to protect each other from COVID during this time. Together we will get thorough these challenging times.
